- a Lexicon Alpha (for shure sm-58 series or other dynamic mics) or Lexicon Omega (for phantom-power mics) Mic Interface.
- A ProCo Mic Cable, TRS-to-XLR Male
- Shure SM-58 or Shure SM-58S
basic pc microphones

basic mic. 3.5mm jack plugs into your audio card (or the back of your PC). 100Hz-16KHz (crystal clear highs). works great, but no noise cancelling. mic is not isolated, so picks up cable handling loudly.

Blue is a maker of Pro Audio mics. great voice quality. 35Hz-20KHz. Transducer Type: Condenser, Pressure Gradient w/USB Digital Output, Polar Pattern: Cardioid. Sample/Word Rate: 44.1 kHz/16 bit. supposed to be a laptop mic.

desktop mic. Blue is a maker of Pro Audio mics. "I was blown away by the audio quality on this Mic." drivers are in the hardware, so will not work if you upgrade to newer version of windows. XP, Vista, or Mac OSX.
Transducer Type: Condenser, Pressure Gradient w/USB Digital Output.
Polar Pattern: Omnidirectional or Cardioid.
Sample/Word Rate: 44.1 kHz/16 bit. freq response: Position 1-3: 40-18kHz. "There is a slight echo when recording quieter passages...The mic could use more amplitude... Blue has a patch for the low amplitude issue but it does not work with all of these Mics, only the latest ones."
