non-rechargeable Lithium and Alkaline batteries of all types, available at wholesaleforeveryone
very inexpensive batteries of the non-rechargeable type. Maxell CR2032's for $5/5. I suggest the $1.57 bubble-pack shipping (USPS First Class - you usually don't need more than that). these don't usually have a long shelf life like the ones in the store or the ones you get from the jeweler's shop. The cells don't have a long shelf life like Duracell and Eveready. For instance, with the Maxell cr2032, I bought them in 2008, they are good until 2012 whereas the Duracell medical CR2032 that you get from the store will last until 2017, but they cost a lot more ($3.50 ea).

Energizer Industrial Alkaline
I chose these Energizer Industrial Alkaline cells because of their mAH rating. Industrial Alkalines have a long shelf life I have found out. These should too. The mAH rating on the D cells is 2x higher than that of the heavy NiMH cells! These cells typically last much longer than regular alkalines running in equipment. 5 year shelf life, with expiration date stamped on them. items are heavy, so shipping may be expensive.

"plain old Alkaline" Battery Chargers
here are all the chargers at all-battery.com - right now everything's on sale. I suggest when you get your batteries that you number them in sets so that when you charge them, you don't get them mixed up - it is a bad idea to have a relatively discharged cell in the bunch under a load (it will get reverse-charged by the others when connected in series!). Tenergy light-blue NiMH cells are generally 1.2V like a NiCD. Alkaline cells are generally 1.5V (and don't last as long in a digital camera) and are best on low-drain devices like remotes. use rechargeables on high-drain devices (see FAQ).
